I · 1967 — 1979
The Mythical Origin
October 1967. In the lower levels of Pasaje Begoña, Guelfo Tamellini switches on the first lights of Piper’s. Spain has just opened up to Europe, and the Costa del Sol fills with young people from London, Berlin, Paris, and the north, all seeking a place where the night never ends. They find it here. Every night, all that energy converges on the dance floor. Queues bring the Málaga–Cádiz road to a standstill; eight people have to be hired just to manage them. In a decade, 500 m² grow to over 2,000. The myth has already been born.
II · 1980 — 2002
The Golden Age
The 80s arrive, and with them, the Movida. Piper’s is its epicenter. Danza Invisible, Tabletom, and Cámara electrify the stage; Javier Arquimbau broadcasts from here for Los 40 Principales, projecting Torremolinos across the country. Camilo Sesto, Bibi Andersen, Salvatore Adamo walk through the doors. Numbered VIP cards with photos form the ‘Piper’s Clan’. Tickets are printed in five languages because the dance floor speaks them all. For 35 years, being part of Piper’s was a way of belonging. In 2002, the doors close. The music, however, does not.
III · 2025 — 2026
The Rebirth
October 2025: the PIPER’S® brand is re-registered. January 2026: 1,200 people gather again under its name in Santa Rita. No advertising was done. The name was enough. The DJ pronounces it three times, and the entire room sings it. Those who danced here forty years ago embrace again, and their children discover why. Piper’s has history, it has an archive, it has a record. But above all, it has people who never stopped remembering it. The rebirth has begun.

The Movida.
It started here.
When Andalusia reinvented itself after the transition, it did so by dancing. And it danced at Piper’s. Danza Invisible, Tabletom, and Cámara made this stage their home. From here, Javier Arquimbau broadcast for Los 40 Principales and put Torremolinos on the map across the country.
Camilo Sesto, Bibi Andersen, and Salvatore Adamo graced its dance floor. A publication by the Junta de Andalucía even documented Madonna’s visit. It wasn’t just another venue: it was the place where an entire generation’s memories were forged.
